What is this IsaKey and how do I get one?

Do I have to pay for the IsaKey?

Replacing your current Isabel card with IsaKey, is free of charge. Nothing changes to your current subscription.

When can I switch from the Isabel card to IsaKey?

You do not need to take any action yourself. Isabel Group itself will invite you to replace the Isabel card with IsaKey in the course of 2023 or 2024.

The invitation is visualised by a form when you log into Isabel 6 and you are asked to enter your delivery address.

When do I get an IsaKey? And what about my colleagues?

Depending on the functionality the customer currently has, you will be invited early or late in the migration.

We will invite users per PKI contract at the same time. Most of you will be invited in 2024. 

The invitation will show itself during logon in Isabel 6. You will be prompted to provide the delivery address.

Will all users in my subscription have to switch to IsaKey?

All users in your subscription will be invited to order their IsaKey during 2023 or 2024.

How can I order an IsaKey for a new user in my Isabel 6 subscription?

A new user will still receive an Isabel card. After card activation and upon logging on to Isabel, this user will be invited to order his IsaKey.

I have several Isabel 6 cards linked to the same User id. Do I get more than one IsaKey?

Automatically, every user receives 1 IsaKey. It is currently not possible to order more than 1 Isakey per user. Use the Isabel card instead.

Can I continue to use my Isabel card after I have activated IsaKey?
  • Always use your IsaKey when you log in and sign payments in Isabel 6. Eventually, you will no longer be able to use your card on Isabel 6.
  • However, keep your Isabel card. For other applications (bank proprietary applications, the optional modules Isabel Go and Isabel Offline Reporting, you will still need to use your card.
I already filled in my address when ordering an IsaKey and now I'm prompted to do it again.

When the address message is not correctly treated on the Isabel Servers, the message will appear the next time you login.

How can I change the language of my IsaKey?

1. Press and hold the Power button until you see the settings menu.

2. Navigate to “Language” with the left button containing arrows and select OK

3. Navigate to the desired language with the left button containing arrows and select OK

How can I activate my IsaKey?

To activate your IsaKey, follow the guidelines in the letter you received along with your IsaKey.

What do I do with my Isabel card after I have activated my IsaKey? Do I need to keep it? Can I still use my Isabel card? 

At this moment we will not inactivate your Isabel card. Both IsaKey and card can be used (as well as itsme).

Isabel Go, Offline Reporting, your banking or eGov application are not working with IsaKey yet. You will need your Isabel card for those applications.

Can I remove the Isabel Security Components from my computer?

No, if you continue using your Isabel card for your specific bank proprietary applications, Belgian government declarations or the optional Isabel 6 modules Isabel Go or Isabel Offline Reporting, do not remove the Security Components just yet.

Can I continue to use my itsme after I have activated my IsaKey?

You can continue to use itsme after you have activated IsaKey.

Do I need the Isabel Security Components to activate my new IsaKey?

You need your Isabel SmartCard for the activation of your IsaKey and as such also the Isabel Security Components.

Be aware that after the activation of your IsaKey, you still need the Isabel card and components in case you use the following applications: Isabel Go, Offline Reporting, your banking, Telelink Off-line or eGov application

I want to activate my IsaKey but I burned or lost my Isabel card.

You will need to order a new Isabel card. It is currently not possible to activate a IsaKey any other way.

How can I change the PIN of my IsaKey?

1. Press and hold the Power button until you see the settings menu.

2. Navigate to “Change PIN” with the left button containing arrows and select OK.

Possible problems while using the IsaKey

Tip: In many cases, the serial number of your IsaKey is needed to troubleshoot problems. This article shows you how to find the serial number of your IsaKey.

I have lost my username / User id. What should I do?

You will find the username / User id on your Isabel card or on your Isabel invoice. We therefore advise you to keep your Isabel card for a while.

My IsaKey is broken, how can I order a new IsaKey?
What if I lose my IsaKey?

If you lose your Isabel card or IsaKey, it is best to contact CardStop (+3278 170 170) as soon as possible to block your IsaKey in case of loss or theft.

The IsaKey screen does not turn on after pressing the power button.

1. Check if the batteries are properly inserted and not empty.

2. Remove the batteries for 2 minutes and then reinsert them.

3. Press the power button firmly
